Power: The power of manipulating life force energy called Chi. His most common application of this ability is called Interchange. Essentially taking from one aspect and adjusting another aspect. Healing and pain, strength and speed, positive and negative are a few ways he can manipulate Chi of himself or others. One skill he had not mastered was Sanctuary. it proved to be too much for him to handle melding the energy of others into a large forcefield. Perhaps with more time and study he will get better at it. There is great potential for his ability to manipulate Chi. Here are a few ways he most frequently uses it:

Healing
Through interchange, Naku can heal and relieve pain at an interchangeable rate. If he heals someone (in truth, speeding up their own natural healing), it can cause that person to feel pain. The amount of pain depends on how fast and how much he heals them. The slower the healing, the less painful it is. After a slow healing, the pain stops immediately. The faster he heals someone, the more it hurts and the longer the pain endures after. Subduing pain comes at the price of slowing the persons natural healing. It would take far longer for the wound to heal, but they would not feel pain. If he heals a person crazy fast, they risk falling unconscious. There is also the possibility of death. Both healing and removing pain usually takes Naku a minimum of 30 seconds (one post) for small scrapes and cuts, and about 3 minutes (about six fast paced posts) for heavier damages, and about 6 minutes for severe injuries if he is trying to not hurt who he is healing.

Anytime Naku heals someone, he feels the pain. The more he uses it, the more it consumes him. He has a high tolerance of pain being in college, but even he has his limits. Either the person being healed feels more pain, or Naku himself will. As of yet, he can heal all forms of physical lacerations externally and internally, as well as heal broken bones. He cannot cure poisons nor viruses. Outside of healing, Naku is numb to all minor cuts, bruises, burns, and gradual temperature changes. He can’t feel them initially, but they can still affect him physically. Though he cannot heal himself while conscious, he does heal faster than others. When unconscious or asleep, his body can heal itself completely given proper time.

Physical Application
He can focus his energy to give extra strength to his body, but at a temporary cost without specialized gear. Usually centered on his fists and legs. He can focus his Chi in making his body stronger, at the expense of speed. Likewise, he can make his body swift, with the expense of being weaker. He used to have Fastened Gloves that helped control his Chi, however they were stolen and he no longer has them. He needs to find another type so he can go back to being more combat ready. He knows Tai Chi, a soft martial art which focuses on self-defense and internal power. With it, he can utilize his opponents' strength against them. He’s still getting the hang of using the style in combat with his energy. He also knows Aikido, which is more of a grappling art. He has yet to infuse his Chi into his martial arts more than leaning into strength or speed over the other.

Influence
Using his Chi, Naku can attempt to influence another person's spirit directly. By attempting to adjust the balance of an individual's spirit, Naku can try to “purify” or “demonize” a target. In a successful purification, he can persuade the negative side of someone's inner being to give into their positive side. Vice versa for “demonization.” He must be within 5 feet of a person for this to work. If a person goes more than 10 feet away from him, he loses influence on them. This is also true with his music. He has not recorded music before, but there is an effect that is untapped. Results after the effect ends vary person to person. They could gradually return back to themselves or have the floodgates of their opposite side take over for a while. He can only do this for a total of four hours per day. Just enough time to do a couple of concerts and try to sew in interchange for healing emotions.

Personality: Kind boy, easy prey. For those who do not know much about Naku, that might be their first thought. More than half the time, they’re wrong. Naku’s sincere desire to help others has been tampered with of late. He has fallen more into his music of late. Naku takes verbal abuse as well as he does physical wounds: they barely scratch him. He rarely returns anger with anger, but if something strikes a cord, he is able to dish out a heated tangent himself. For the most part he sees the good in everyone. Down-to-Earth, open-minded, and friendly, he easily falls into the “nice guy” role, often overlooked until he’s singing his songs.

Naku is rarely a push over. He stands up for those who can’t defend themselves. He also backs up his own opinions. Sure of who he is, he’s not too certain of who he will become. He’s always searching for where his heart lies. This also plays into him being a bit of a flirt. In all actuality, he just wants people to feel good. He tries to make sure people have a good time in the here and now. At times he can seems like a lazy, laid-back daydreamer at times, but his mind is always active. He’s more of a thinker and feeler than an impulsive individual. He falls short when it comes to compliments and witty remarks.

Description: He has dark blue hair that is so dark, it may as well be black. It flows to his shoulders in loose waves. His hair has a slightly coarse texture to it which when blown out reaches his upper shoulders. He wears green rimmed glasses but also can wear contacts at times. He also has a pair of gold rimmed glasses and plain ones with a thick black border. His eyes are dark brown, almost black. His face can be classified as handsome. He looks like a charming, earnest, mutt of a man. He looks Blasian most times, but his European-American heritage tones down the prominent features. His skin has a darker tone to it, giving him a light caramel coloration. Many may believe him to be South East Asian upon seeing him.

Naku stands at 5 feet 9 inches (175.3 cm). He has a well-toned physique which could still become more chiseled if he really wanted to. He’s usually wearing blue, black, and white. Despite the weather, he always has a long sleeved shirt a size or two bigger than him. He likes wearing jeans, though they vary between a light wash and black. It’s always wide legged. He’ll wear blue shirts underneath with various messages on them or something plain. He wears sneakers, usually blue, black, and silver. He wears a few different bracelets, usually home made cloth ones. He nearly always has his acoustic guitar with him. It’s his baby. Black and dark blue in color, it’s African Mahogany. He loves it very much.

Background: Though Naku was born to a middle class family in New Zealand, he is also of American descent. His father, Daniel Johnson, is Native-American and European-American. He came to New Zealand for a short break which turned into a very long one when he met Ami Futomi. She was a widow of African-American and Japanese descent with two children of her own. They both worked together and eventually wed. One year later, Jack was born. He spent the first three years of his life in New Zealand before the family relocated to Vermont in America. The family settled in a beautiful green space where his father commuted to the hospital for work and his mom became a substitute teacher so she could still be there for the kids mostly. In addition to teaching others children, she taught her own kids Tai Chi from a young age. Jack was the youngest sibling, then Jing who was three years older, then Lei was the eldest being ten years older than the youngest.

Ultimately, Jack lived a good life. Though his parents were fairly rich, they never spoiled their children. Their mom ultimately decided to open work at a dojo for kids. One of the other teachers was always nice to them as well. They started training with other kids to learn Aikido. The woman named Alice was a teacher who taught them well for a few years. When he was 11, she was left in charge of taking care of the siblings while their parents went out of town. When they were closing up the dojo, someone attacked Alice while she was taking out the trash. The pair found her on the ground eventually as she bled out. This was exceptionally hard for Naku because he was told to look after Alice while his brother was tasked with looking after him. This was when his first power came out. As she was telling them to return to the Dojo and call the emergency (something Jing did right away), Jack was busy filling up on remorse and an intense need to fix her. As he held her hand, he began healing her quickly. She tensed up and let out a painful scream until all her wounds closed up. Jacks vision got blurry and he was wracked with intense pain himself at the end. In the end, they both ended up unconscious.

Jack woke up in the hospital. He was not able to see clearly still. They at least told him that Alice was okay, just traumatized and in a lot of pain for some reason. Jack also had pain. Jing stayed by his side the whole time. When the kids got out, Alice was thankful for the kids finding them, but hesitant to be around Jack. Once their parents came back early, they were able to discuss the events and the possibility that Jack was a mutant. They at least got him some glasses. They had no idea how to care for him nor understand his abilities. They figured the best thing would be for him to go to the temple Lei worked at and learn control. When away, he learned with the masters at the center, mostly about how to control his Chi. With their mutant powers, it made the exercises that much more tangible. When Jack was there, he studied hard and tried to learn what he could. He basically became a new person and decided to go by another name: Naku Futomi. This was especially true as he learned to influence other people. It was only so long before the leaders learned of Naku’s powers. He was given an option to return home or face government officials. He returned home, but there was a letter requesting that he join them to care for his abilities.

Anima High School (AHS) accepted him when he was 13 years old. He spent all of his high school years training his powers. He also took up playing guitar. He was encouraged to use his powers through his voice for this. There was a mix of practical lessons needed in his grade, but also practices for his powers. He eventually graduated and turned 17 that summer. He went to their college for two years, but another situation happened when his girlfriend Emily was gravely hurt in combat. He was unable to control his powers and it was hard to heal her slowly. An arch happened when he held his Sanctuary and helped everyone inside it. His Chi reinforced the shield which kept others out as she and others with him screamed. The pain went on for all of them until Naku passed out. His girlfriend didn’t die, but he wasn’t able to bring himself to face her again. They were supposed to travel abroad to Xavier’s University, but she backed out of it. He decided to go and also set the motion for a full transfer for the rest of his school life. A new country where he at least didn’t have to hurt anyone he cared about. Time would tell how soon someone gets added to that list.
