It had seemed like a good enough place to hole up. An old estate in disrepair. Plentiful game in the woods. No groundskeeper.
Then the burned out shell of the lighthouse had bloomed with crystals, and the countryside went mad. Ghosts of people. Unfamiliar buildings.
So she went where things almost made sense. Out to the woods.

Someone was already out in the middle of the woods, a small cloud of fog swirling around her as she sat cross-legged on the ground, eyes closed.

The tall redhead frowns as she sees someone out there, sniffing as she circles around.

Her eyes open, blazing with energy, "I'm so not in the mood. So if you're looking for a fight, just keep on going."

"...making sure you're not a ghost."
"You still rather look like one."

"Why would I be... you know what, never mind. Why are you out ghost-hunting..." Her eyes narrow as she tries to place the face.

"I'm ghost-avoiding. These grounds got lousy with 'em suddenly."

"There does appear to be some sort of incident going on. A friend of mine who should have known me didn't recognize me and attacked me," she says, mulling that over.

"And you look more than a little like... someone I used to know."

"You look like a couple of people I know. Hard to place though." The young woman smells like wolf and also not. There's a distinct scent of rain, earth, and ozone hovering around her.

The redhead's nostrils flare as she nears.
"You're... damn it, you are, aren't you?"
The tall woman herself smells strongly of wolf, even through the damp.

She raises an eyebrow. "Am what?"

"At first I figured you were some sort of daft wizard, if you're being this bold with what you can do."
"But you're... this isn't your only shape, is it?"

"It is now. It didn't used to be. That's a long and not always pleasant story."

Her eyes widen a bit.
"...you were cured?"

"More like it was purged. It hurt like hell and nearly started a small tropical storm... in England."

"So you didn't... want to be cured?"

"I did, it was beginning to get in the way of other things and wasn't what I was meant for. That did not make it hurt less."

"Still better off than me," she sighs with a huff, sitting down herself.

"People like to make it sound simple to find your place in the grand pattern of life. But I've know several werewolves, so talk to me."

"Not much to say. Been this way awhile. Don't know who bit me. Got the second puberty from hell and just... I don't know. Leaned into it."

"You can just call me... Red," she says, reaching out a thick hand with long nails. There's a hint of tattoos peeking from her jacket's cuff.

"Well, it's either some sort of world gone mad or I suppose it could be dimensions colliding into one another. It'd be hard to tell the difference between those two. I'm not even sure if any of the other X-Men are here."
