To Samantha's relief, she found that her meal card was already active and worked to secure some pub food and a soda. Taking her order of mozzarella sticks into the lounge area, she deposited herself on the couch to eat, periodically glancing up to the television.

It wasn't much later that Rob sat down in the same general area. Apparently he had the same idea, having picked up a basket of fries.

He glances over at Sam. He almost looks surprised to see another person.

"....Hello?" Rob says.

Sam is briefly startled, and looks over to him after pulling her gaze away from the TV.

"Oh! Hi there. Didn't hear you come in."

Rob shakes his head, "Don't worry about it. I have a tendency to sneak up on people."

"I'm Rob. Robert West, actually," Rob says, "But I prefer Rob. Usually."

"I'm Sam. I just got here today."

"There are a lot of people my age," Rob says. "I was sort of home-schooled. So, I'm not used to that. Especially with them being strangers. It's interesting. People are interesting. Unpredictable."

Rob idly tears up a french fry as he talks, "What about you? What do you think so far?"

"Well, this is pretty much the first time I've been able to just hang out with other mutants, you know? I had lessons before, but those were kind of strictly business."

"It's pretty out here, too. Reminds me a bit of home."

"Well isn't everyone here for mutant stuff? I'm sure the classes aren't awful or anything, but you'd think they'd go to... I don't know, normal university if they weren't."

"I'm a very strict pacifist," Rob says. "Villain punching is out of the question. And I don't think I have the self-confidence to pull off spandex anyway."

"That'd be nice," Rob says. "But I also got a thing. My head is all...fwomph. I get...well, seizures are the wrong word. It's more like I just shut down if things get too stressful."
