As Leo starts to come to, his eyes blinking in the desert sun, a figure comes into focus.

It looks mostly like the fledgling goddess, albeit built differently and carrying the Will-Hound over her shoulders.

"...proud of yourself?" She asks with a glare.

"Nngh..." the nude young monsterman groaned as his sense returned.

"That didn't go like I hoped." He rubbed his head where Ryn hit him with a rock.

Suddenly realizing his lack of clothes, he added a perplexed "... the fuck? Why would--Hell, did I go beast mode?"

"It's all gone pear-shaped, that's what's happened. They're doing something up there."

She gently sets the Will-Hound down.

Leo stood, turning towards the distant campfire. An indistinct recollection of his other self's experience flashed through his mind but he couldn't make sense of it yet. "Whatever they're doing, Ryn fought tooth and nail to keep me from getting in the way."

As the shockwave passes over them in the fading light, she shivers at something entirely else.

"...we've got to move. We'd be there by now, if it wasn't for you."

She shoulders Will anew.

Apologies, it seemed, would have to wait.

"Let me carry him. We'll get there faster," he said, all business.

"I've got no bloody reason to trust you with him."

He sighed. "Look. I didn't mean to actually hurt him. I just... needed to slow you down. I... thought I had a chance to end this without anyone having to make any life or death decisions. Clearly, I overestimated my abilities."

"Just stay out of my way."

"Just remember, Katarina isn't a bad person and she didn't ask to be a Siren any more than you asked to be what you and your friends are." That was all he said before he started walking. He truly didn't believe Kane knew the extent of the chaos she was causing. In truth, he needed that to be the case for if she were irredeemable, then what was he for the blood on his hands?
