[Plot] The World Ends With You

[Laura Kinney]

"Yeah, gonna put off a trip to London. Get settled, listen to the optimistic spiel tomorrow, by afternoon I should have some news about Muto." she says as she leads Yuli inside and to a door she pops open for her. Inside is a small living room with a little kitchen corner and a door to a bedroom and adjacent bathroom. There's large windows in the bed- and living-rooms.

As they head inside Laura pops open a small closet and pulls a stack of blankets and a spare pillow from it.

"In case you feel too exposed, I've had good experiences with chucking a bunch of blankets and shit in the bathtub."

[Yuli Jete]

The entire 'room' was huge! Yuli wasn't used to having so much space to herself. The bed alone could fit five people. "Who else shares this space?" She wondered, moving around to look at the different rooms it offered. "It's so big! Two whole ele' can fit in here!" She said, most fascinated by the faucets. She stopped by one in the kitchen, turning it on and beaming instantly. "It works!" She said before moving to Laura. "Blankets in tubs?" she wondered before going into the room. This was a much more comfortable size for sleeping. "This room works. Othahs can have the othah space," she decided.

"No others, but sleep wherever you're most comfortable, kiddo. If you get hungry there should be some food in the fridge, some non-perishables in the cupboard. Oh and before I forget..." she says, and pulls a simple flip-phone from her pocket. "Got my number in it, just hitting 1 and the green button should put you through to me." she says, underhand-tossing the phone at Yuli.

Yuli was able to catch it with both hands then stared at the ancient device. Her eyes started to get bigger. "This a relic! This is-! Ya, ah'll contact ya," she said, immediately pressing the 1 and the green button to see what happens.

Laura laughs at Yuli calling it a relic, because really, it's accurate even if she suspects the young woman from the future means it in a very different context. Pulling out her own buzzing phone she accepts the call. "Kinney here." she answers. "And trying to get a handle on what technology you guys have in the future is being wildly confusing. Guessing the time machine wasn't exactly something you had just sitting around."

[Yuli Jete]

"Nah. They found a spaceship. Worked on et for long time. Fifty years! Couldnt get it to go fah into space. Just up an' through time," she explained as she explored the room she was in, still on the phone. "Yuli's ship's gon dark. No going back, or forward now."

[Laura Kinney]

"Oh just up and through time, huh? Well, we'll do our best to make your one shot work. Last time someone time traveled to us they were not nearly as friendly. And Minamida proceeded to throw herself into the past trying to fuck with it. So it's probably good there's nothing for her to want to work on."

[Yuli Jete]

"Yuli 'as a node. Showed ye Zahir on it. Will recha'ge in morning. Know the best place ta get solah?" She wondered as she brought blankets into the bathroom so she could make a comfy use of the tub.

[Laura Kinney]

"Node, right. Some kinda smartphone-like tool, I'm guessing? Anywhere here's equally mediocre for sunlight but if you just wanna set it down for a couple hours the roof's probably best."

"I'll let you get settled. Talk to you tomorrow, alright?"

[Yuli Jete]

"This is Khal. Nodes are different, but..." she yawned, tucked away in the tub-bed. She hoped Laura grabbed her shoes on the way out. Her own were by the tub, drying but ready to be grabbed at a moments notice. Much like her pack which was tucked between the toilet and the tub. "....yeah, yeah. Night. Taqa bless you, Wolverine..." she said before drifting off to sleep.

She hadn't been one to end the call. Come morning, the plan was to absolutely make her way to the roof to charge her devices and sun bathe. Sun permitting, It shouldn't be a problem. Time would tell what she needed to do to get good sunlight around here.
